Hurt Town Charter
The Town of Hurt, like other municipal corporations across the Commonwealth of Virginia, was established by and perpetually operates in accordance with an official Town Charter approved by the General Assembly. A charter is, in effect, the “Constitution” by which a local government is formed and functions. Hurt was officially incorporated in 1967, but the chartering process leading up to that occurred in 1966. Our charter is included in our Code of Ordinances Library. To access, simply look under the "Government" tab and click "Town Code."
